The Trip

We’ve been discussing where to go for this year’s Boy’s Weekender. Usually we head off somewhere around April/May time but events this year had conspired against us. So, we’re looking at some time around the beginning of October. All we have to do know is decide where to go.

After some initial discussion we made a short-list of destinations; Tallinn, Budapest, Copenhagen, Bratislava or Prague. All of them look good to me but I’ve done some research to narrow the field. I've checked out exchange rates and airfares and, as far as I can tell, it seems to be a straight-out fight between Budapest and Prague.

Budapest looks like being cheaper to get to/survive in than Copenhagen or Tallinn. Prague appears easier to get to than Bratislava, though the airfare coupled with tales of prices in the city centre bars would push the budget up (though it'll still be relatively cheap).

Prague is currently the favourite plaything of stag parties, not that this is a bad thing but if I go abroad the last thing I want to bump into is a hoard of pissed-up brits throwing up in the streets. Despite that it's still a place I want to visit but I’ve got my fingers crossed that Budapest wins the vote, if only because of a little shop on Balta Street, just off of Andrassy Street.
I’m funny like that.

Whatever, we’ll decide where to go the old-fashioned way; over beers and a curry.
